Over 300 UGSOA Officers Working at The DOJ and ICE Facilites in Washington D.C. Wish to Be Represented by FCGOA

UGSOA Washington D.C. News

The members of the United Government Security Officers of America UGSOA are revolting by the hundreds in Washington D.C. to join an alternative union who has committed itself to provide better onsite representation, quality affordable healthcare plans and access to 401k programs. This new alternative union is the Federal Contract Guards of America FCGOA which has petitioned the National Labor Relations Board to represent over 300 security police professionals working for Wackenhut Services Inc.(WSI) at the Department of Justice and MVM at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Headquarters both located in Washington D.C. Both units are presently members of UGSOA Local 44.

The revolt by these UGSOA members to join FCGOA is just the tip of the iceberg. In Texas UGSOA members working for FJC Services are awaiting the results of a highly contested election whereby 8 challenged ballots still remain to be open. "The UGSOA International continues to take the position not to count these 8 challenged ballots knowing they are FCGOA votes which would give FCGOA the clear victory in this election". Stated a UGSOA member who's ballot was challanged and voted for the FCGOA

At UGSOA Local 21 in Washington D.C. over 300 officers working for Watkins security and U.S Associates had filed 4 separate petitions to decertify UGSOA. After a long drawn out battle which has lasted for months, UGSOA President Desiree Sullivan sent a letter disclaiming interest in this group leaving them without union representation.

At UGSOA Local 80 in Washington D.C. there are also many problems as UGSOA International President Desiree Sullivan has placed UGSOA Local 80 under trusteeship.

Under This HOSTILE Saddam Like Takeover All UGSOA Local 80 Officers & Shop Stewards From Washington D.C. Have Been Removed & Striped of Their Power. These UGSOA Local 80 members are now in the process of signing up with the Federal Contract Guards of America FCGOA.

Presently it has been reported that the members of UGSOA Local 80 have filed complaints with the Department of Labor DOL in regards to this hostile takeover of their union. UGSOA Local 44 have also taken action by filing complaints with the DOL for its failure to file the required LM-2 reports required by all labor organizations.

The present problems the United Government Security Officers of America UGSOA is facing is not limited just to the Washington D.C. Area. At UGSOA Local 20 newly elected UGSOA President Desiree Sullivan has removed the president of this UGSOA local Bill Taylor. See the documents here: http://ugsoa.org/ugsoadesireesullivancharges.pdf

In Arizona UGSOA President Desiree Sullivan was forced to pay a settlement of $4904.58 to a security officer who UGSOA failed to represent. See the documents here: http://ugsoa.org/ugsoanlrbsettlement.pdf

Another major problem the UGSOA International is facing is the fact they are on the verge of bankruptcy with net assets totaling just $97,564. Part of the problem why this is happening is the fact UGSOA's attorney John Tucker is bleeding them dry. Last year alone the UGSOA International spent close to $300,000 just in legal fees paid to John Tucker.

On June 27th 2010, UGSOA Local 201 Members voted unanimously to dissolve Local 201 effective July 31st, 2010. Whats Going Here?

With so many problems and challanges facing UGSOA President Desiree Sullivan and the UGSOA International Union, its no wonder why these UGSOA members continue to revolt to join FCGOA.
